How do I clean the work coil?
Applies to all systems HD-500, EA-20, Tesla, Solid State
Whether it is time for regular maintenance or result of an arc, care should be taken to clean the work coil correctly so as to avoid problems in the future. The coil should be removed from its nest (often the water lines can remain connected) and cleaned with scotch-brite to restore the original copper shine. After the coil is clean, use the scotch-brite to clean the nest where the coil lays. If there has been severe arcing and/or Emabond material flash, all carbon and Emabond material must be removed. This may involve use of a file, scraper, or Dremmel tool. When finished, wipe the nest and coil with lacquer thinner to remove all dust and then re-install the work coil.
