Applications - By Material
Emabond® process can join a wide range of similar and dissimilar thermoplastics. We are providing a few application examples of the more commonly joined materials. We offer a FREE Compatibility Service wherein our lab can provide physical performance using test bars of your specific material. Please contact Emabond directly for specifics.
Polypropylene
Polypropylene continues to be the thermoplastic of choice for countless applications. Polypropylene offers useful combinations of properties such as toughness and chemical, heat, moisture, tear, and flex resistance. This versatility allows polypropylene to be used to create high value, cost effective applications. Polypropylene is the most commonly joined material by the Emabond process and continues to grow as the properties of PP are enhanced. |

Glass Filled PP or PA (Nylon)
Glass-filled polypropylenes have advantageous properties such as high strength, stiffness, chemical resistance, low specific gravity, and low cost relative to typical engineering resins. Possible applications of such glass-filled polypropylenes include pressure vessels, appliances, hot water plumbing, and transportation uses. The Emabond process is very effective for joining of highly glass-filled thermoplastics when compared to alternative welding methods. |

Polyethylene
Polyethylene is used in a wide variety of applications because, based on its structure, it can be produced in many different forms. Emabond can be used to join a wide variety of polyethylene, LDPE, MDPE, HDPE, UHMW versions, filled materials as well as elastomeric-based compositions. Joining of blow molded to injection molded and/or extruded structures are also widely practiced using the Emabond process. Emabond has successfully overcome many of the limitations of thermal and frictional forms of welding PE products. |
